Podcast Reflection: Faith Driven Entrepreneur

I felt led to attend 'faith driven' entrepreneur connection gatherings with business believers in Atlanta.  On one of those occasions a gentlemen with great persuasion encouraged me to starting listening in on a podcast called Faith Driven Entrepreneur.   His words were greatly accepted and I have been consuming as much of the content that I can with as much available time as I can give it.

I have turned my car rides into learning sessions from top business and thought leaders throughout America.  The purpose of this journal entry is to record all of the inspirations that I receive from the messages.

I have listened in on several podcast thus far but the four aforementioned podcast are what I feel led to retain in my soul.  These first four are the ones I listened to over the last 4 weeks.

EPISODE 60 - HOW AN INTERVIEW WITH HULK HOGAN ON THEIR WEDDING DAY STARTED A $40 MILLION BUSINESS WITH JEFF AND ALLY DAVIDSON OF CAMP GLADIATOR

What I learned: that I would like to help expand Camp Gladiator to Birmingham and a reminder of how powerful it is to cut things that are not working.  Trimming an organization back to an essential healthy being is far more effective then having a larger organization that is ineffective.  Growth happens best from the foundation of a healthy organization not matter how small it is.

Episode 57 - Combating Loneliness with Community: Scott Weiss from Ocean Accelerator

What I learned: that I think Birmingham could benefit from working with Ocean Accelerator to build one in our city.

Episode 51 - God Owns it All: Alan Barnhart, CEO of Barnhart Crane and Rigging

What I learned: The Bible is full of warnings of how difficult it is to maintain a healthy faith life and be rich at the same time.  Mr. Barnhart made a good point when he said the probability of keeping solid in the faith and being rich is like the Jesus states about as easy as it is for a camel to enter through the eye of a needle.  I totally agree with the idea principal of choosing to live a modest lifestyle and using the significant profits God provides engaged in Kingdom investment.  Be careful not to use profit as a way to personally consume or prop your identity on it.   This is such a great and sobering warning for all who feel the call of God to serving him through the mission of business.  This not only means I personally have to watch out for my spirititual condition but that I am also having to work with business leaders who also are struggling in a significant manner in retaining their right relationship with God.

Episode 50 - Doing Good by Gaming the System – Yu-Kai Chou, Pioneer of Gamification and Creator of Octalysis Prime Framework

What I learned:  Gamification is something I had never heard before and is a thought process that I choose to retain as I engage my business endeavor.  Please truly are more engaged when their is a level of contributing to something greater than themselves, when competition is on the line, and belonging to a community.
