A Passover Modeled After Yeshua

A Simple Guide to Remember, Participate, and Prepare

Passover is one of the oldest continuously observed festivals in human history—now approaching just under 3,500 years, or roughly 50 generations. It was established by our Abba Father as the beginning of months, marking not just a moment in history, but a rhythm of life for His people.

At His command, we continue to celebrate Passover for the following reasons:

  • To remember our journey out of bondage from Egypt and into the promised land
  • To remember the blood sacrifice of the Living Lamb of YHWH
  • To participate in and pass down the covenant promises of the Kingdom from generation to generation
  • To renew our betrothal to our Groom, looking forward to the day we dwell with Him in the New Jerusalem

Passover is not just something we study—it is something we enter into.

What follows is a simple, Scripture-based outline to help guide a Passover gathering modeled after the night Yeshua led His disciples.

Order of Service

1) Egypt to Freedom

Bitter Herbs & Opening Cup

We begin by remembering where we came from.

  • Eat bitter herbs to reflect the bitterness of bondage
  • Share an opening cup of thanks

📖 Exodus 12:1–28

This is the foundation:
We were once in bondage—but YHWH delivers.

2) Blood Sacrifice

Bread & Covenant Cup

At the center of the evening, Yeshua reveals the deeper meaning of Passover.

  • Break and share the bread
  • Share the cup
  • Forgiveness of sins

📖 Matthew 26:26–28

“This is my body…
This is my blood of the covenant…”

This is the moment where remembrance becomes participation.

3) Disciples Betrothal

Foot Washing & Kingdom Identity

Yeshua then models humility and establishes identity.

  • Wash one another’s feet
  • Reflect on your role as a Kingdom people

📖 Exodus 19:5–6
📖 2 Samuel 7:12
📖 Luke 22:28–30
📖 John 13:3–17

“You also ought to wash one another’s feet…”

This is where we step into:

  • Covenant
  • Calling
  • Kingdom transfer

4) New Jerusalem

Meal, Final Cup, and Promise

The evening moves toward its future fulfillment.

  • Eat the meal together
  • Share another cup
  • Enjoy dessert (a reminder of the sweetness to come)

📖 Matthew 26:29
📖 John 13:33–36
📖 Revelation 19:9
📖 Revelation 21–22

“I will not drink again… until I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

This points us forward to:

  • The Marriage Supper of the Lamb
  • The New Jerusalem
  • Eternal dwelling with Him

5) Worship & Departure

Sing a Song

We end the night the same way Yeshua did:

  • Sing a hymn together

📖 Matthew 26:30

“And when they had sung a hymn, they went out…”

The night closes not in silence—but in worship.

Final Thought

Passover is not just a memorial of the past.
It is a present participation and a future promise.

It began in Egypt.
It was revealed in Yeshua.
And it will be completed in the Kingdom.

Let’s prepare well.
